Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive construction estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and scope of work using industry-standard estimating software
- collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to gather pricing information and negotiate favorable terms that align with project budgets.
- Develop detailed cost breakdowns covering labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
- Review project drawings and specifications thoroughly to identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities early in the planning process.
- Assist in project management activities by providing accurate cost projections and supporting scheduling efforts to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, bids, negotiations, and related documentation for future reference and audits.
- Stay current with industry trends, pricing fluctuations, new materials, and construction techniques to continually refine estimating accuracy.
- Submittals, change orders, understanding leed documents
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of commercial drywall construction processes and terminology.
- Proficiency in estimating software
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Solid knowledge of construction safety standards, building codes, and permitting processes.
- Ability to analyze complex plans and specifications critically while paying close attention to detail.
- Interior System Mechanic construction experience is a requirement
- Understanding commercial wall types, spec book and prints, division 5,7, 9
