Summary
An experienced machinist is required at Centennial’s tool room to ensure the safe, efficient operation, cleaning of and running adjustments for their machine(s). Responsible for the maintenance of prescribed quantity and quality of product produced.
Job Duties
· Operate manual lathes, mill, surface grinder, drill press, and other various machine shop machinery.
· Experience with electrode EDM machine is preferred but not necessary.
· Produce product with an emphasis on quality
· Operate complex machinery and make running adjustments as required
· Able to read engineering drawings and machining files.
· Adhere to all workplace safety policies, compliances and regulations
· Use all required safety equipment, e.g. Steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses / goggles, etc.
Requirements
· A machinist trade certification or equivalent
· Experience: we are look for an experienced machinist with 4-5 years experience
· Highly punctual, strong work ethic and attention to detail
· Reliable means of transportation
· Able to work as a functioning member of a team
· Ability to work independently in a busy environment
· Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
· Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
· Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
· ·Ability to use standard measuring tools such as tape measure, caliper, shadow graph, and vernier
Work Conditions
· Physical ability to lift up to 50lb
· Safety equipment may be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
· Overtime as required
· Hazards associated with the trade
Centennial Plastic has its own Tool Room with Mold Making facilities. We are a custom injection molding facility located in Mississauga.
Pay: $22.00-$35.00 per hour
