Job title: Dog Grooming Receptionist
Job summary:
The Dog Grooming Receptionist is responsible for managing daily front-desk operations at a pet grooming salon. This includes greeting customers and their pets, scheduling grooming appointments, answering phones, processing payments, maintaining client and pet records, and supporting the grooming team with clear communication and workflow coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet clients and pets in a friendly, professional manner.
- Answer phone calls, emails, and messages and respond to questions about services, pricing, policies, and availability.
- Schedule and confirm appointments for grooming, bathing, and related services.
- Check pets in and out and make sure required forms and service notes are completed accurately.
- Process payments and handle cash, card, and POS transactions.
- Maintain customer and pet records, including contact details, vaccination information, grooming history, and special instructions.
- Coordinate with groomers to communicate client requests, timing, and special handling needs.
- Manage the daily appointment flow to help the salon stay on schedule.
- Handle retail sales of pet products if the salon offers them.
- Keep the reception area organized and clean and assist with light administrative tasks.
Common Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is typically preferred.
- Experience in customer service, reception, or front desk work is often preferred.
- Familiarity with booking software, scheduling systems, and point-of-sale systems is helpful.
- Basic knowledge of dog breeds, grooming services, and animal handling is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent multitasking.
