Seasonal Outdoor Construction Lead
A central Alberta construction company is seeking an experienced Outdoor Construction Lead for a seasonal project lasting approximately four to six weeks this fall.
The successful applicant will lead and work alongside a small crew completing physically demanding outdoor construction involving wood components.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can organize a small crew, interpret construction drawings, maintain productivity and quality, and work safely in changing outdoor conditions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and work alongside a small construction crew
- Coordinate daily tasks, materials, tools and equipment
- Read and follow construction drawings and specifications
- Accurately measure, cut, fit and install wood components
- Monitor workmanship, progress and job-site safety
- Communicate with project management and site representatives
- Identify site issues and report potential delays or changes
- Keep the work area organized and secure
Qualifications
- Previous carpentry, framing or wood construction experience
- Experience supervising or leading a construction crew
- Ability to read plans, drawings and measurements accurately
- Experienced with using standard carpentry tools and equipment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and lead a small crew of 1-2 people
- Ability to make practical job-site decisions
- First Aid, CSTS and fall-protection training are assets
- Reliable transportation to the project location
- Valid driver’s license
Physical and Working Conditions
This is physically demanding outdoor work. Applicants must be able to:
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Push, pull, bend, kneel and work from varied positions
- Work on uneven outdoor terrain
- Work outside during fall weather, including cool or wet conditions
- Remain active throughout the workday
Position Details
- Employment type: Seasonal, full-time

- Schedule: Mainly Monday – Friday

- Compensation: Depending on experience

Pay: $27.00-$38.00 per hour
