Overview
The Cultivation Technician works closely with the Level 2 Technician and the other Technicians to ensure all areas are functioning according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring compliance with all regulations. This position will work directly with the cannabis plants throughout the growth and harvest cycle.
Key Accountabilities
This position is responsible for maintaining accurate records, sanitation levels and communicating relevant information effectively to the Supervisor and other team members.
Responsible for assigned duties in all stages of the growth and harvest including; watering, pruning, feeding, reservoir maintenance, harvesting, trimming, tear down, clean up and complete sanitation.
Participate in the cleaning and sanitation of Cultivation and production areas and all equipment by following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Perform safe and effective harvesting, handling, drying of cannabis bulk product into end products.
Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Cannabis Regulations, by following SOP’s for all activities (Cultivation, harvest, extraction and sanitation).
Processing Technician
The Technician works closely with the Supervisor and other technicians, performing duties in all stages of packaging, including canning setup/prep, weighing, bulk product handling, scanning, labeling, counting, tubing, storage, excising, casing, and palletizing and perform associated AMPLE entries.
Operate equipment such as the Canning Line, Tabletop Labeler, Vacuum Sealer, Tube Labeler/Excising, Heat Sealer (tabletop), and Bag Labeler/Excising Machine.
Participate in the cleaning and sanitation of processing and packaging areas and all equipment by following established SOPs and WHMIS guidelines.
Ensure all cannabis products are free from contamination risk at all processing stages
Wear proper PPE and handle chemicals as per SOPs, product MSDS and WHMIS.
Other duties assigned as operationally required.
Preroll Technician
Responsible for Operating the PreRoll-ER (100 & 200), including setup, cleaning and sanitation.
Perform duties in all stages of setup/prep, bulk product handling, weighing, scanning, labeling, counting, storage, and perform associated AMPLE entries.
Maintain levels of working/supply inventory (Cones, Tubes, and totes and notify the Supervisor when supplies are low (trigger for order request).
Operate equipment such as the Canning Line, Tabletop Labeler, Vacuum Sealer, Tube Labeler/Excising, Heat Sealer (tabletop), and Bag Labeler/Excising Machine.
Participate in the cleaning and sanitation of processing and packaging areas and all equipment by following established SOPs and WHMIS guidelines.
Ensure all cannabis products are free from contamination risk at all processing stages.
Working Conditions
Work environment can be warm and humid, similar to a greenhouse environment.
Processing/Preroll areas can be cool with forced air flow.
Lifting up to 50 lbs repetitively, on regular basis.
Standing and walking for long periods of time. Frequent bending, kneeling and reaching.
Performing a series of repetitive tasks requiring excellent hand-eye coordination.
Experience and Education
High School Completion (or Equivalent)
Keen attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (fluent in English)
Ability to work well within a team setting and individually when required.
Experience using computer systems (MS Office etc).
