Why We’re More Than Trailers
For 45 years, Southland Trailers has been building more than trailers — we’ve been building a company where people come first. Today, we’re one of Canada’s largest trailer manufacturers with 560+ team members and a simple operating philosophy: people first, processes second, products third.
We believe in hard work, open communication, a positive attitude, continuous improvement, and leading with humility and respect. Using LEAN manufacturing and modern technology, we design and build high-quality trailers while constantly finding better ways to work.
At Southland, you’ll find a collaborative, hands-on environment where ideas are welcomed, initiative is valued, and your work makes a real impact.
If you’re driven, curious, and want to grow with a company that’s going places — you’ll fit right in.
This Isn’t Just a Cafeteria Job
Our cafeterias are a big part of the team member experience. They are where people start their mornings, take a break, grab a good meal, and connect with the people around them.
We are looking for a Cafeteria Cook & Service Team Member who takes pride in good food, clean spaces, friendly service, and doing things the right way.
This role is for someone who can jump in, stay organized, move with urgency, and help create a cafeteria experience our team members actually look forward to.
The Mission
Support the cafeteria team by preparing quality meals and snacks, serving team members with a positive attitude, and keeping the kitchen clean, safe, organized, and ready for the day.

- Food is prepared safely, consistently, and according to recipes and standards.
- The kitchen, serving area, and workstations are clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Shortages, issues, or equipment concerns are communicated before they become bigger problems.
- You are trusted to work independently, support the team, and help keep the cafeteria running smoothly.
What You’ll Do

- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices.
- Operate the front counter, including cash registers, debit machines, and point-of-sale systems.

- Keep workstations clean, organized, and stocked throughout the day.
- Complete daily 5S requirements to maintain a clean and efficient workspace.
- Help identify problems in the cafeteria and participate in finding better ways to do things.
- Support other cafeteria team members as needed.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Head Chef.
You Might Be a Great Fit If

- Notices when something needs to be cleaned, stocked, fixed, or improved.
- Can move quickly without becoming careless.
- Brings a positive attitude, even when the day gets busy.
- Can follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Works well with others, but can also stay on task without constant direction.

- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
