Role Description
We are seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian with a strong background in diagnostic ultrasonography and advanced veterinary imaging to join our team in Peterborough, ON. This is an on-site position suited for a veterinarian who is confident practicing independently and has a strong interest in advanced diagnostics.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional medical care to companion animals, with a primary focus on diagnostic ultrasonography, digital radiography, medical case management, and surgical procedures. This role also involves client education, collaboration with veterinary technicians and support staff, and maintaining comprehensive and accurate medical records.
You will play an integral role in fostering a positive clinic culture while staying current with advancements in veterinary medicine and imaging techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations and diagnostic assessments
- Conduct and interpret diagnostic ultrasonography and digital X-ray imaging
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans
- Perform surgical and medical procedures within scope of expertise
- Prescribe medications and provide client education on treatment and preventive care
- Collaborate closely with veterinary technicians and support staff
- Maintain accurate, detailed medical records in compliance with veterinary standards
- Contribute to a positive, professional, and team-oriented clinic environment
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution
- Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Ontario, or eligible for licensure without requiring qualifying examinations
- Minimum of one year of small animal internship experience in a referral setting
- Strong interest and demonstrated experience in diagnostic imaging, particularly small animal ultrasonography
- Working experience with advanced imaging modalities such as endoscopy, CT, and MRI
- Solid foundation in veterinary diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high medical standards
- Interest or experience in preventive care, emergency medicine, or specialized veterinary fields is considered an asset
- Demonstrated commitment to compassionate, high-quality patient care
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150,000.00-$200,000.00 per year
