1.0 FTE BRIDGE Program Teacher
Student Support Services
This is a temporary assignment effective September 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027. This position is to be worked at Shuswap Middle School.
The assignment is to an inclusive support program for students with complex behavior challenges in a school setting. This program offers a combined educational and social emotional support for students who have received level 1 and level 2 supports/interventions and require more significant supports. The aim of the ISP is to support students in the acquisition of lagging skills and strategies to enable them to successfully function in a regular classroom setting. Appropriate experience at the secondary school level and/or background in L.R.T., positive behavior supports, counselling is recommended. The teacher must be able to develop a highly individualized program for students and successfully work with parents and staff to support the needs of students.
Qualifications:

Master's degree or equivalent in Special Education or current registration in program; and/or a degree in counselling or social work;

valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch;

a senior level course and experience in Level B assessment.

Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (or willingness to train)

experience in developing and implementing behavioral and academic IEPs;

demonstrated leadership capability and enthusiasm toward participating with students in both school and recreational activities;

successful experience in case management and multi-agency collaborations;
