Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our moving company. As a driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting household goods and furniture to and from clients' locations. You will also assist with loading and unloading items, ensuring everything is properly secured during transit, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive Company Vehicles: Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
- Assist with Loading/Unloading: Help load and unload furniture and household items, ensuring they are packed securely and safely.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner, answering questions and addressing concerns as needed.
- Pre-Trip Inspections: Perform vehicle inspections before and after each trip, ensuring the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Route Planning: Follow efficient routes and manage time to ensure timely delivery and pickup of goods.
- Inventory Management: Assist in tracking inventory of items during the move and ensure nothing is lost or damaged.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the moving truck clean and organized, ensuring proper maintenance.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and traffic laws during all driving assignments.
- Documentation: Complete required paperwork such as delivery logs, invoices, or damage reports, as needed.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with movers, warehouse staff, and other drivers to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL may be required for larger vehicles).
- Experience: Previous driving experience, especially in the moving or delivery industry, preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy items and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Customer-Focused: Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to address issues on the road, including detours, delays, or unexpected challenges.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to keep track of inventory and maintain organized records.
- Attention to Detail: Careful attention to the handling and securing of items during transport to prevent damage.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Experience with basic vehicle maintenance.
- Familiarity with local routes and neighborhoods.
- Knowledge of loading/unloading techniques to prevent damage to goods.
Working Conditions:
- Physical ability to lift, move, and carry heavy furniture and household items.
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Flexible hours, including weekends and some holidays.
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly wage or salary $18.00-$20.00 / hour commissions on move jobs
