We are looking for a motivated Operations Coordinator to join our operations team and play a key role in scheduling, coordinating field crews, and ensuring projects run efficiently.
Position Overview
The Operations Coordinator will support daily traffic control operations by managing crew scheduling, coordinating job requirements, assisting with Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), performing site checks, and communicating with clients and field teams.
This role requires strong organization, communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.
Key Responsibilities
Dispatch & Scheduling
- Schedule Traffic Control Personnel (TCPs), Lane Closure Technicians (LCTs), and equipment based on project requirements.
- Coordinate daily and upcoming job schedules.
- Communicate job details, locations, start times, and requirements with crews.
- Adjust schedules based on emergency calls, client changes, and operational needs.
- Maintain accurate scheduling records.
Field Operations Support
- Conduct site visits and quality checks to ensure setups meet company and safety standards.
- Support field crews with operational concerns.
- Verify manpower, equipment, signage, and traffic control setups.
- Identify areas for improvement and assist with corrective actions.
Traffic Management Planning Support
- Assist with preparation and coordination of Traffic Management Plans (TMPs).
- Review job requirements, drawings, and site conditions.
- Coordinate required equipment and resources for projects.
- Work with supervisors to ensure traffic setups meet project requirements.
Client & Team Coordination
- Maintain professional communication with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Support project planning and daily operations.
- Help resolve scheduling conflicts and operational challenges.
- Build strong relationships with field employees.
Health & Safety Cordination
- Promote health and safety throughout the company and support safer, healthier work practices
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s health and safety program in accordance with WorkSafeBC requirements, including policies, procedures, and manuals
- Support in COR development and maintenance, including documentation and audit preparation
- Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is used according to legislation and company policies
- Record and report hazards, incidents, injuries, safety concerns, and near-miss investigations including identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions
- Be on-site for WorkSafeBC inspections and assist with follow‑up actions as required
- Deliver or participate in new worker orientations, toolbox talks, safety meetings, and site safety briefings
Qualifications
- Experience in traffic control, construction, dispatch, logistics, or operations for 3 years preferred.
- Formal education and/or training in Occupational Health & Safety (or actively working toward a certificate or diploma)
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Comfortable using computers and scheduling systems.
- Valid driver’s license required & TCP ticket
- Good knowledge and understanding of the WorkSafeBC Regulations for Traffic Control, Part 18.
- Knowledge and understanding of the WCB Act, sections 115-117, General Duties.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Management Manual for Work on Roadways as developed by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
Working Conditions
- Combination of office and active construction site work
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Exposure to heavy equipment, traffic control zones, and active civil construction environments
Assets:
- Traffic Control experience.
- Experience supporting COR certification
- Previous experience coaching or supporting supervisors and site leadership on safety improvements
- Knowledge of WorkSafeBC and MOTI traffic control requirements.
- Experience preparing or reviewing TMPs.

Pay: $65,450.00-$75,507.09 per year
