Position
- Job Title: Welder

- Reporting to: Fabrication Supervisor / Production Manager
Job Duties
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications and work orders
- Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment (MIG, TIG, flux-core and arc welding)
- Weld components in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions
- Fit, position and align components to be welded
- Examine welds and ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
- Operate metal-shaping, straightening and bending machines
- Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding equipment
- Follow ABS established safety practices and regulations; report any unsafe conditions or practices to management
Job Requirements
- Diploma/certificate in welding or a related trade; Red Seal endorsement (Welder 456A) considered an asset
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience
- English language proficiency

- GTAW and Sub Arc - Heavy Welding: 4 years (preferred)
- FCAW - Flux Core - Heavy Welding: 4 years (required)
- large scale, custom or heavy (4"+) fabrication projects: 4 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
- CWB certification (preferred)
- AWS certification (preferred)
- TSSA certification (preferred)
