For over thirty years, The Arts Connection has been the core of arts education in Richmond. The Arts Connection is the parent company of Renaissance Academy of Learning and The Arts Conservatory. Our team of passionate and experienced teachers inspire our community through music, dance, and visual arts.
The Arts Conservatory is seeking a Private Piano Instructor to teach students of a range of levels and ages for the 2026-27 School Year. Student levels will range from Preparatory to RCM Level 8, with lesson times varying from 30 to 60 minutes depending on the student. Most students may be within this range, however higher level students may be added on if possible.
The school year runs year-round from September to August with some flexibility, and this is a contract position based on student enrollment. Teachers are responsible for making up any missed classes, so professional responsibility is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Teaching weekly in-person private lessons to students
· Tracking student attendance and progress
· Communicating with parents and the School of Music Manager about scheduling and any necessary make-up lessons
· Preparing students for RCM Exams, Recitals, Festivals, and Competitions, based on individual student goals
· Attending school recitals and masterclasses throughout the year to support students
REQUIREMENTS
· Formal Music Education (e.g. Diploma, Degree, RCM, or similar equivalency)
· Comfort working with students of a range of levels and goals
· Minimum 2 years teaching experience preferred
· Ability to teach other instruments also an asset
Job Type: Independent Contractor
Rate: $36-$42 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. There is a $0.55/hour Office Levy fee per paycheque to cover unlimited use of our facilities, photocopier/scanner, phones, etc.
Hours: Seeking for Wednesday Afternoon/Evening, with possibility for Monday, Friday, and/or Sunday as well.
