Job Summary
Black Wolf Custom Homes and Blackwood Interiors is looking for a creative, detail-oriented Interior Design & Cabinetry Consultant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who loves helping clients bring their vision to life through thoughtful design, functional cabinetry solutions, and a seamless customer experience.
The successful candidate will work directly with homeowners, builders, renovators, and internal project teams to guide clients through cabinetry design, interior selections, layouts, finishes, quoting, and project coordination. This position combines design expertise, product knowledge, relationship building, and strong organization to support kitchen, bath, renovation, and custom home projects from concept to completion.
As part of our team, you will help create beautiful, functional spaces that reflect each client’s lifestyle, budget, and overall design goals.
Duties
- Meet with clients to understand their vision, style preferences, functional needs, budget, and project goals.
- Create cabinetry layouts and design concepts using industry software such as Mozaik, Cabinet Vision, or similar design tools.
- Guide clients through cabinetry, hardware, countertop, colour, finish, and interior selection decisions.
- Prepare design presentations, drawings, mood boards, layouts, quotes, and product recommendations.
- Support kitchen, bathroom, renovation, and custom home projects from initial consultation through final selections.
- Collaborate with internal team members, suppliers, trades, installers, and project managers to ensure design details are clearly communicated.
- Maintain accurate records of client selections, quotes, revisions, timelines, and project details.
- Provide thoughtful recommendations that balance design, function, budget, and buildability.
- Assist with showroom appointments and create a welcoming, professional client experience.
- Stay current on cabinetry trends, interior design styles, materials, finishes, and product options.
- Support sales goals through strong client relationships, clear communication, and confident design guidance.
Experience
- Experience in cabinetry design, kitchen and bath design, interior design, renovations, custom homes, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency with Mozaik, Cabinet Vision, AutoCAD, SketchUp, 2020 Design, or similar design software is an asset.
- Strong eye for colour, materials, space planning, finishes, and interior styling.
- Ability to read plans, take measurements, and understand basic construction or renovation processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to guide clients through decisions with confidence and care.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines at once.
- Comfortable preparing quotes, reviewing selections, and discussing budgets with clients.
- Strong customer service mindset and ability to build trust with homeowners, builders, suppliers, and trades.
- Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- A diploma, certificate, or degree in Interior Design, Interior Decorating, Architectural Technology, Kitchen & Bath Design, or a related field is considered an asset but is not required

Pay: $62,000.00-$72,000.00 per year
