PRODUCTION OPERATOR (STEEL STUDS)
IBP (Imperial Building Products) is a coast-to-coast national steel stud manufacturer serviced by two divisions with branch offices across Canada. IBP is a registered member fabricator of the Canadian Sheet Steel Building Institute (CSSBI). Our products are manufactured in Canada, with distribution nationwide. We provide fully engineered & tested systems, design assistance and cost-saving options, with over 1000 installed projects completed in a variety of building types.
IBP is currently recruiting for 3 Production Operators for our steel stud plant, based in Etobicoke, Ontario.
These are permanent and full-time positions, offering a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate their skills and abilities in a manufacturing operation within a large corporation.
Under the guidance of the Production Supervisor, the Production Operator conducts the daily operations of the Steel Stud Department.
Additional responsibilities of the Production Operator include:
- Production Tasks: Operate the machine screen, set ups of machines, bundle/band/stack steel for transportation to our customers.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety rules, model programs, and procedures, promoting safety among crew members and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Equipment Operation: Efficiently operate equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the production of high-quality products.
- Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively in a team environment, maintain consistent attendance, and develop good working relationships within and across departments.
Qualifications:
- A track record of positive safety behaviours, attendance, attitude and work performance with a passion for learning new skills.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment can be an advantage.
- Proficient mechanical understanding and the ability to follow technical instructions.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, ensuring safety and quality in all aspects while effectively communicating with team members.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work day or afternoon shifts, including Saturday as needed.
- Assigned Shifts include: Days 5am to 2pm and Afternoons 2pm to 11pm
- Dependable with an excellent attendance record.
- Ability to work flexible hours and shifts and adapt to changing business conditions.
There are 3 current openings:
- 1 - Operator - Day Shift - Monday-Friday 5am-2pm
- 2 - Operators - Afternoon shift - Monday-Friday 2pm-11pm
Hourly wage: $20/hr CAD
