Job Overview
The HR Generalist supports the day-to-day HR operations by managing employee data, assisting with recruitment, payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient HR processes, maintaining compliance, and fostering a positive employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage and maintain the HRIS system to ensure accurate employee data and reporting
- Support full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate sourcing, pre-screening, interview coordination, conducting interviews, and offer letter preparation
- Submit criminal background checks, and manage recruitment timelines and candidate communications
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including building employee orientation
- Employee performance follow-up
- · Administer employee benefits enrollment and ensure timely processing
- · Booking and follow up of Drug & Alcohol Testing and Physical Ability Tests
- Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters in alignment with company policies to the employees by acting as a first point of contact and escalating issues to the HR Manager/Director
- Assist managers in preparing coaching documentation and performance-related records
- Maintain and track probationary and disciplinary records to ensure timely completion
- Manage employee attendance records and track time-off requests, job protected leaves, etc.
- Support payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely employee compensation
- Prepare Letters of Employment
- Assist with employee engagement and wellness initiatives
- Perform HR administrative duties including data collection, record keeping, reporting and maintain recruitment and termination data like exit interviews.
- Assist in managing the HR mailbox
- Carry out additional tasks and responsibilities as required
Qualifications and Skills
· Knowledge of HR processes, employment standards, and best practices
· Strong organizational and time-management skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
· Reliable and punctual.
· Must possess reliable transportation to get to/from work.
· Experience utilizing an HRIS/HR software (e.g., Dayforce, Workday, etc.).
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, etc.).
· Familiarity with HR software for managing employee data and recruitment processes.
· High degree of adaptability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced ever changing environment
Certifications/Requirements
· Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a Human Resources role
· Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field
· Proven experience as an HR Generalist or similar role
· Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws
· Proficiency in on Ceridian Dayforce
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
· Self-motivated, comfortable to work independently while maintaining a high-level f professionalism ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information
