Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant/Receptionist/Lab technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing front desk operations in a medical setting, with proficiency in electronic medical records (Accuro) and office management. This role involves providing exceptional patient service, managing administrative tasks, and supporting clinical staff to ensure smooth daily operations. Candidates with knowledge of Accuro, and medical terminology will be highly valued. Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages
- Verify patient information and health card details accurately within electronic medical records system Accuro.
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, including updating patient records and collecting payments
- Prepare and organize patient charts and documentation for clinical staff
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area, ensuring all office supplies are stocked
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence
- Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow throughout the day
- Ensure compliance with PHIPA regulations and confidentiality standards
- Lab draws on adult patients
- Basic point of care testing (urine/pregnancy tests/strep tests/viral swabs)
Skills
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system Accuro
- Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology relevant to healthcare settings
- Previous Medical Office or Front Desk experience preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with office software
