Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Parts Counter Person to join our automotive dealership team. This role involves providing exceptional service to customers and technicians by accurately managing parts inventory, processing sales, and offering technical assistance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive parts, excellent communication skills, and experience with dealership operations. Multilingual abilities and familiarity with POS systems are highly valued. This position offers an engaging environment where organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for success.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers and technicians in identifying and selecting the correct automotive parts and accessories
- Manage parts inventory, including order fulfillment, stock replenishment, and organization
- Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems and handle cash or credit payments
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automotive repair procedures and parts specifications
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, offering technical advice, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with sales management to promote products and support marketing initiatives
- Keep the parts department organized, clean, and compliant with safety standards
- Utilize Microsoft Excel for inventory tracking, reporting, and order management
- Communicate effectively via phone etiquette to assist customers remotely or schedule pickups
- Support maintenance activities within the parts department as needed
Experience
- Previous dealership experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Experience with POS systems, retail sales, cashiering, and order fulfillment is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to negotiate and communicate clearly
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a diverse customer base
- Familiarity with automotive repair processes, CMMS software, or sales management tools is beneficial
- Organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management and record keeping
- Basic math skills necessary for handling cash transactions and order calculations
