Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport freight across Canada to US routes, ensuring timely deliveries. Responsibilities
- Safely operate trucks and heavy equipment to transport freight to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and documentation in accordance with company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance or coordinate repairs as needed, including automotive repairs if required.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during transportation duties.
- Assist with warehouse operations as needed, including freight handling and inventory management.
Skills
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
- Familiarity with freight handling procedures and safety protocols.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and follow safety guidelines diligently.
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads, perform vehicle inspections, and work in various weather conditions. This role is essential for maintaining the smooth flow of our logistics operations while emphasizing safety, efficiency, and professionalism at all times.
