Structural Steel - Welder/Fitter/Junior Fitter
Currently we looking to hire a Welder/Fitter and/or Junior Fitter into our CWB certified fabrication shop. Role involves the layout/fitting and welding of plates and various structural steel shapes. Fabrication of miscellaneous metals including stairs, hand rails and guard rails. Ability to manufacture required items from fabrication drawings. Day shift with 44hr work week, Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:30pm. Competitive wage package including health and dental benefits. Possible future promotions within the organization. Candidate to perform an in-house fillet weld test during interview.
Candidate must have or ability to obtain:
- 12 graduate High school diploma.
- 1-3 years’ experience preferred or in related field.
- Valid G driver’s license with a clean driving abstract.
- Physically able to lift up to 50lbs. and stand for extended hours.
- Collaborate well with all team members.
- Ability to work independently.
- Hard working, punctual, safety-conscious, and team-oriented.
Ideal candidate will be assessed in following area:
- CWB certified in MCAW, GMAW, or related welding experience.
- GTAW experience an asset however, not required.
- Follow fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and bill of materials to produce a quality product.
- Able to identify the many different structural shapes and material sizes.
- Experience working/welding carbon, and stainless steel, also aluminum.
- Safe operation of all hand tools and power tools.
- Operation of lift trucks in a safe and proper manner.
- Use of hydraulic plate shear and press brake, CNC equipment.
- Cambering/straightening various materials with the use of heat.
Pay: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
