NOJAC (Northern Ontario Joint Apprenticeship Council) together with the IBEW local 1687 are seeking motivated and detail-oriented 309A electrical apprentices to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the electrical field while working under the guidance of skilled professionals. A 309A apprentice will assist in various electrical tasks, including installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential, commercial and industrial settings.
Responsibilities
· Assist experienced 309A journeyperson electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment.
· Utilize hand tools and power tools to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
· Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements.
· Support the installation of low voltage systems as directed.
· Follow safety protocols and adhere to industry standards while working on job sites.
· Participate in training sessions to enhance electrical knowledge and skills.
· Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
· Grade 12 English or French.
· Grade 12 Mathematics.
· Grade 11 or 12 Science (Physics, Chemistry or other) and/or Trade Course(s).
· Graduated from High School.
· Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
· Previous experience as a 309A apprentice electrician or in a related electrical field is not required but is an asset.

· NOJAC has an annual intake process, applications are accepted from February 1 to November 30 every year and those selected are invited to write the NOJAC General Knowledge Test held each January.
