Position Overview:
Upper Canada Consultants is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Civil Design Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will hold a Civil Engineering diploma, with a preference for candidates with at least two years of Civil Design experience, though recent graduates with strong academic credentials are also encouraged to apply. The role requires a candidate who takes initiative and consistently meets project deadlines without the need for micromanagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare clear, detailed drawings and grade plans that comply with client design and drafting standards.
- Create base plans using topographical survey data.
- Develop as-built drawings based on field data and construction updates.
- Compile multiple sub-plans or designs into consolidated master plans.
- Conduct quality reviews of CAD files and submission drawings.
- Prepare and verify quantity calculations from plans.
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for tasks such as pipe networks, alignments, cut-fill, cross-sections, and corridors.
- Collaborate with the design team, providing input and assisting in project development.
- Manage tasks efficiently to ensure timely project completion.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (C.Tech or C.E.T.).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including expertise in pipe networks, alignments, cut-fill, cross-sections, and corridors.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage tasks without constant supervision.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on client-oriented service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
