We are currently seeking a proactive and organized Health & Safety Coordinator to support and maintain our workplace health and safety programs.
Position Overview
The Health & Safety Coordinator will be responsible for administering safety programs, maintaining compliance with applicable legislation, coordinating employee training, and supporting a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Maintain records of employee health and safety training and certifications.
- Coordinate safety orientations and training programs for employees and temporary workers.
- Maintain records of workplace incidents, injuries, and WSIB documentation, including Form 7 reporting.
- Assist with return-to-work and modified work programs.
- Conduct and document workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits.
- Maintain equipment, contractor, and safety compliance records.
- Support incident investigations and corrective action initiatives.
- Assist supervisors in developing safety procedures and training materials.
- Participate in Joint Health & Safety Committee activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and health and safety legislation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- Knowledge of Ontario health and safety legislation.
- Experience with incident investigations, workplace inspections, and hazard identification.
- Strong organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred
· Experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Knowledge of WSIB claims management and return-to-work programs.
· Experience supporting Joint Health and Safety Committees (JHSC).
· Experience developing and delivering safety training programs.
· Understanding of preventative maintenance programs and machine safety requirements.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
· Health and Safety certifications, including: First Aid/CPR , COR/Internal Auditor Training and Occupational Health & Safety Certificate or Diploma
