The Marketing and Event Specialist provides administrative, operations, and project assistance for the marketing and social media team at Fleming College Toronto. The role will support the Marketing Director with the development and execution of marketing campaigns, supporting recruitment activities and events, asset development, and coordinating marketing tasks.
The position is responsible for day-to-day support on marketing campaigns and events including but not limited to event planning/coordinating, coordinating marketing asset development, building and managing project timelines to ensure deadlines are achieved, research, supporting reporting requirements, and coordinating invoice payments.
Marketing campaign and event support – 50%

Coordinates marketing campaign project tasks from requests to approvals

Assists with sending approved creative to vendors or media partners on time and collaborates with the Marketing Director and associated teams on edits

Coordinates deployment of related campaign materials to recruitment teams (for e.g., emails, marketing collateral)

Assists with planning and executing on events (owned and sponsored)

Collaborates with the recruitment team to help coordinate and manage marketing support timelines for webinars, events,

Maintains monthly calendar of activities and coordinates calendar tasks

Assists with campaign reporting and ROI, working with internal partners to obtain quantitative and qualitative data points

Conducts research to support marketing campaign activities to support domestic recruitment
Marketing asset coordination – 30%

Coordinates tasks associated with development of marketing assets such as, eblasts, one-pagers, retractable banners

Assists with selection, ordering, and management of campus swag

Liaise and coordinate with vendors on quotes and production of materials

Coordinate invoice payments and tracking
Administrative – 20%

Coordinate and manage marketing tasks

Assists with submitting requests for marketing services (copywriting, design, web, social)

Participates in marketing team and related campus meetings

Attends events and supports marketing and campus recruitment

Other duties as assigned

This role may require hours outside of the normal workday from time to time

Advanced Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Advertising, or Public Relations
- 1 – 2 years of experience in a marketing or communications environment

Event coordination and planning skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience working in a collaborative environment with a cross-functional team (writers, designers, web, and content teams), and external stakeholders

Attention to detail and organizational skills are highly valued in this role

Excellent problem-solving and ability to work independently

A passion for learning and sharing the latest marketing trends in marketing and higher ed

Knowledge of project management software (Office 365 Task Planner, Jira, Trello)

Social media experience is an asset
