Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant. This role involves handling various accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring smooth processing of accounts. The ideal candidate will have some previous bookkeeping experience and possess strong data entry and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute Bi-Weekly payroll preperation.
- Preparation of T4’s.
- Manage data entry tasks related to financial transactions using Sage accounting software.
- Posting vendor invoices, reconcile vendor statements to invoices posted and issue payment of invoices.
- Posting credit card settlement reports.
- Perform account reconciliations to verify accuracy of financial records.
- Monthly source deduction calculations for government remittances.(GST/PST).
- Assist with bookkeeping duties including ledger maintenance and journal entries.
- Assisting administration as needed.
- Assist with month-end and year-end reporting.
- Collaborate with team members to improve accounting procedures and workflows.
Skills
- Experience in accounting software. (Sage experience is an asset).
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes and account reconciliation techniques.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic math skills essential for accurate bookkeeping and financial calculations.
- Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Post Secondary Education in Business or accounting an asset.
- This position requires a dedicated individual eager to grow within the field of accounting while supporting our company's financial operations.
Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
