Bookkeeper / Accountant (Real Estate & Property Management)
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping and accounting experience, preferably within the real estate, property management, construction, or hospitality industries.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with Canadian accounting and tax regulations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records for multiple business entities
- Record daily financial transactions and maintain the general ledger
- Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements
- Process payroll, employee deductions, and CRA remittances
- Prepare and file HST/GST returns
- Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Reconcile rental income, property expenses, and vendor payments
- Assist with year-end accounting and external accountant requirements
- Maintain organized financial documentation and records
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and government regulations
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Experience using QuickBooks Online/Desktop
- Knowledge of Canadian payroll, HST/GST, and CRA requirements
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience in real estate, property management, hospitality, or construction accounting is considered an asset
Schedule
- Full-time or Part-time
- Monday to Friday

- In-person / Hybrid / Remote (depending on company requirements)
