Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyperson Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive heavy duty mechanic expertise, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to perform maintenance and repairs efficiently. This role involves diagnosing issues, repairing cranes, pickups, and trailers. This is a unionized position represented by IUOE 955. Wages, benefits, hours of work, seniority provisions, and other terms and conditions of employment are governed by the applicable collective agreement.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic assessments using schematics and technical manuals to identify equipment issues
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on various heavy duty equipment systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to complete repairs
- Interpret schematics and technical diagrams to accurately execute repair procedures
- Assist with inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance tasks
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and quality control procedures
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and service performed for each vehicle
Skills
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in crane repair and maintenance
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repair tasks
- Excellent mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively
- Knowledge of vehicle systems, electrical diagnostics, and preventive maintenance practices
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $58.81 per hour
