Part-Time Interior Designer / Sales Associate
Small Space Plus is looking for a creative, motivated, and hands-on Part-Time Interior Designer / Sales Associate to join our growing showroom team in Vaughan.
We specialize in multifunctional furniture, custom Murphy beds, custom cabinetry, storage solutions, and space optimization for condos, small homes, and flexible living spaces.
This role is ideal for somebody who enjoys both interior design and sales, and who is comfortable being part of a collaborative, team-oriented showroom environment. We are looking for somebody who is creative and professional, but also willing to assist with the day-to-day operations of the showroom when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with furniture selection, layouts, finishes, and space planning solutions
- Create simple floor plans, mood boards, renderings, or visual presentations when required
- Recommend multifunctional furniture and custom solutions based on client needs
- Follow up with leads, quotations, and customer inquiries
- Support the sales process from consultation through closing
- Merchandise and maintain showroom presentation standards
- Assist with tagging, pricing, organizing, and showroom upkeep
- Help customers with pickups or loading orders when necessary
- Work collaboratively with management and team members on projects and showroom operations
- Stay current with interior design trends, small space living, and multifunctional furniture solutions
Qualifications:
- Background in interior design, decorating, furniture sales, or related field
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable working in a retail showroom environment
- Sales experience is considered a strong asset
- Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design software is an asset
- Strong eye for colour, layout, and visual presentation
- Organized, proactive, and detail oriented
- Must be comfortable in a hands-on role and willing to assist wherever needed
- Interest in small space living and space optimization is preferred
Compensation:
- Base pay starting at $20 to $22 per hour based on experience
- Additional commission structure on personal sales (approximately 3%)
