The HS&E Advisor will oversee our HS&E program, ensuring compliance with all legislated requirements. This role includes mentoring and coaching employees across all divisions while working with senior leadership to enhance our HS&E culture. This position will report to the Director of Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
HS&E Program Management:
- manage the HS&E program
- provide mentoring to all employees
- implement changes as/when required
- Ensure efficient integration of HS&E practices into operations
- Align HS&E processes with company goals to achieve industry-leading performance
Regulatory Compliance:
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Evaluate and respond to new or changing provincial regulations and their impact on the company.
Continuous Improvement:
- Implement a continuous improvement approach to both new and existing HS&E programs.
- Address and resolve daily HS&E issues promptly.
Employee Development:
- Orientation of new staff and contractors
- Mentor and train employees on HS&E concepts and objectives.
- Manage HS&E employee performance through training, goal setting, and development discussions.
Collaboration:
- Foster a cooperative and cohesive work environment among teams.
- Work with HR on injury claims, return to work initiatives, and the Drug & Alcohol program.
Incident Management:
- Lead incident investigations, determine corrective actions, and ensure follow-up.
- Assist the sales department with tendering processes and client relationships
Leadership:
- Provide leadership and guidance
- Elevate issues to management when necessary.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Microsoft Office Proficient in Excel, Outlook, Word and Teams.
- Previous experience with ComplyWorks, ISNet, Avetta an asset.

Requirements/Qualifications:
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) is a requirement
- CRSP certification is considered an asset
- 5+ years’ experience in HS&E-Experience with orientations, site inspections, hazard identification, work practices and all investigations
- Modular/Manufacturing experience an asset
- Certified to complete internal COR audits
- First Aid Certified
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- WCB claims management experience
- Ability to motivate employees in the importance of health and safety as well as their involvement in training programs
- Ability to foster candid, open, honest dialogue both within HS&E and with operations and senior management
- Ability to bring out the best in people to achieve positive results through coaching and mentoring
Work Conditions:
- Office based position
- May be required to operate a fleet vehicle for business purposes

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
