Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing patient interactions, and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations. Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
- Manage inventory by restocking shelves, checking expiration dates, and organizing medication supplies
- Provide exceptional patient care by answering questions, offering guidance on over-the-counter products, and supporting patient needs
- Enter prescription data into pharmacy systems with precision to ensure correct medication dispensation
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Support administrative tasks such as billing, documentation, and record keeping
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely medication delivery and patient safety
- Follow all safety protocols related to medication handling and storage
Qualifications
- Prior experience in hospital or pharmacy technician roles is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members
- Experience in patient care environments is a plus
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Certification as a pharmacy technician or related healthcare qualification is preferred but not required
