Job descriptionWe are looking for a motivated individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, join our Winnipeg team as a City Dispatcher. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient operations and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
· Answer incoming calls and emails and respond to customer inquiries
· Book loads for our customers and dispatch appropriately to available drivers
· Plan trips and coordinate with Central Dispatch Team
· Dispatch drivers on planned pick ups and deliveries
· Ensure Drivers are provided with all information that is required
· Process customs documents, POD's and/or any other paperwork as required
· Be able to make changes on the fly as needed to cover all trucks and loads
· Monitor and track all pickup and deliveries and notify customers in a timely manner· Engage with drivers constantly and follow up on planned routes, pickups and deliveries
· Notify and communicate with our customers regarding the status of their load or any delays on a regular basis
· Be able to troubleshoot and multitask to resolve any issues that may occur
· Must be a team player and able to work in a very fast-paced environment
· Maintain accurate records of all communication and activities
· Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications:
· Minimum 1 year of Dispatch experience
· The ability to interact professionally with drivers, customers, and team members
· Familiarity with computer systems, email and dispatching software
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written· Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
