The Insignia hotel is a unique hotel with rich history and charm. Formerly known as the Drawbridge Inn, our hotel was initially built in the 1960’s. Throughout the history of Sarnia, the drawbridge was the place to be. Today, The Insignia Hotel is part of the Tribute Portfolio Collection, and we continue to grow and prosper with the beautiful city of Sarnia. We offer a full-service 84 room hotel with amazing amenities such as saltwater pool, dry saunas, gym, Legacy Restaurant and Regners Tudor Lounge. We also have a private banquet hall and drawbridge room available for business, conferences, and leisure events.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Legacy Restaurant is seeking a dedicated part-time Breakfast Cook with open availability, particularly on weekends. We need someone who can be on-call for busy mornings and can work independently or alongside another cook.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As a Breakfast Cook, you will prepare and serve a la carte breakfast items, ensuring a high standard of quality and presentation. You will be responsible for creating a positive dining experience for our guests through your culinary skills.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and cook a la carte breakfast dishes according to hotel standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
- Ensure timely service during breakfast hours.
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations diligently.
- Collaborate with team members when necessary and manage tasks independently during busy periods.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: 1+ years Cooking experience in a restaurant capacity is required; breakfast cooking experience is an asset.
Certification: A valid food handler's certificate is mandatory.
Communication: Basic written and oral communication skills in English are required.
Schedule: Ability to work from 4/6 AM to 11AM/1 PM, depending on the volume of breakfast service. On-call on weekdays in case team member calls in or it is a busy morning.
Must be organized, work well under pressure, and be capable of functioning both independently and as part of a team.
