Studio Representative / Party Host – Part-Time

We are looking for an energetic, confident, and highly customer-focused Studio Representative / Party Host to join our team at Crock A Doodle Calgary SW.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing position. We are looking for someone with strong previous customer service experience who is comfortable assisting customers, handling busy periods, solving problems, answering questions, managing multiple priorities, and creating a welcoming experience for every guest.
The right person will also be confident leading birthday parties, group bookings, corporate events, school groups, and other activities with both children and adults.
Important Requirements
We are specifically looking for someone who can provide reliable coverage Monday through Friday, including weekday daytime and evening hours depending on the studio schedule and bookings.
Flexible weekend availability is also required, as many parties and group events take place on Saturdays and Sundays.
The successful candidate must have a valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a vehicle, as this role may include travelling to off-site events, corporate bookings, schools, community organizations, and mobile events.
Responsibilities
As a Studio Representative / Party Host, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing exceptional, friendly, and professional customer service
- Greeting customers and confidently guiding them through their studio experience
- Answering customer questions and providing accurate information about products, pricing, parties, events, and studio processes
- Handling customer concerns professionally and using good judgment to resolve issues
- Managing multiple customers, tables, phone calls, bookings, and studio tasks during busy periods
- Hosting and leading children’s birthday parties
- Leading corporate groups, school groups, community events, teams, and clubs
- Confidently speaking in front of and giving instructions to groups of children and adults
- Assisting customers with pottery selection and the painting process
- Processing pottery and assisting with glazing, kiln preparation, loading, and firing procedures
- Opening and closing the studio
- Answering phone calls and assisting with customer inquiries
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming studio environment
- Cleaning tables, shelves, tools, brushes, and general studio areas
- Assisting with off-site and mobile events
- Working independently and as part of a team
- Staying calm, organized, and positive in a fast-paced environment
Required Qualifications
- Previous professional customer service experience is required
- Experience in a busy retail, hospitality, entertainment, recreation, or service-based environment is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally with customers
- Comfortable handling customer questions, concerns, and unexpected situations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident working with both children and adults
- Comfortable leading groups and speaking in front of people
- Strong multitasking and time management skills
- Able to remain calm and organized during busy periods
- Self-motivated and able to work independently without constant supervision
- Reliable, responsible, and punctual
- Positive team player with an engaging and friendly personality
- Willingness to learn and take feedback
- Reliable availability to help cover Monday through Friday hours
- Flexible weekend availability
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a vehicle are required

This is a busy studio environment, and we are specifically looking for someone who is a strong, experienced customer service person — not someone looking for their first customer-facing job.
No artistic experience or ability is required. We provide training on our pottery processes and studio procedures.
