Design Engineer – Unilux CRFC

We are looking for a mid-level Design Engineer to support Production and R&D. This role will report to the head of R&D.
Compensation and benefits:
- $50,000 to $60,000 annually, prorated, depending on experience
- Medical and dental benefits after 90-day probation period
- Two weeks annual paid vacation

Responsibilities include:
- Participate in site walkthroughs/inspections with engineering partners
- Assist engineering partners to build equipment specifications
- Review and measure existing equipment to aid in the design of replacement equipment
- Review tender specifications and communicate with Production to ensure all details are being accurately adhered to
- Support Production through the design of new equipment: turn field measurements into SolidWorks drawings, create prototypes, test, and scale
- Create coil capacity schedules and airflow profiles using specialty software
- Build riser diagrams from existing mechanical drawings to support in-field installations
- Update SolidWorks drawings in our product catalogue; measure physical prototypes to test adherence to drawings
- Assist with AHRI and ETL certification
- Perform R&D and continuous design improvement
- Research new technologies to incorporate into product portfolio
- Communicate best design practices with the team
- Assist with other projects as required
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience with SolidWorks
- 2+ years HVAC experience preferred
- 5+ years work experience in engineering or similar capacity
- Mechanical engineering diploma/degree or similar
- General technical knowledge of mechanical parts and their manufacturing process
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
Hours and Location:
- Office located at 3055 Lenworth Dr, Unit 2, Mississauga
- Occasional site visit in the GTA
- Flexible start time: 8am or 9am
- Monday to Friday
