Building Maintenance Technician
GCX Contracting Ltd. — Okanagan (Vernon to Penticton)
CA$25.00–$35.00 per hour, based on demonstrated skill
Full-time or part-time (your preference), permanent | In person | Immediate start
GCX Contracting provides ongoing building maintenance for strata properties, commercial buildings, and residential clients across the Okanagan. We've built a great team of people who take pride in their work and genuinely enjoy working together — and we're looking for a personable, positive addition to it. Our clients count on us to keep their buildings looking sharp and running right, and our techs are the friendly, professional face they see on site.
What you'll do:
- General building maintenance and repairs for stratas and commercial sites
- Preventative maintenance — routine inspections and upkeep that catch problems before they become repairs
- Common-area upkeep — hallways, lobbies, parkades: lighting, door hardware, general repairs
- Grounds and exterior work — pressure washing, gutters, minor landscaping
- Seasonal work — snow and ice removal, seasonal inspections
- Painting, drywall patching, and trim repair finished to a professional standard
- Pool maintenance may be required at some strata properties
- Work directly with strata councils, property managers, and residents every day — you are the face of GCX on site
- Occasional on-call availability for urgent building issues
What we offer:
- $25–$35/hr — your place in the range depends on the skill you demonstrate; proven techs start at the top
- Vehicle/fuel allowance for travel between sites
- Full-time or part-time hours — we build the schedule around your preference
- Flexible scheduling — control over your workdays once you're established
- Steady, year-round maintenance contracts — no seasonal layoffs
- A supportive, tight-knit team that has your back
What it takes:
- Experience in building maintenance or the trades is a strong asset — but no experience is OK. If you're reliable, good with people, and willing to learn, we'll train you.
- Personable and positive — you get along with the team and deal comfortably and professionally with councils, managers, and residents
- Able to work independently and see a job through to a high standard
- Comfortable with ladder work and the physical demands of the trade
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license (travel between Vernon and Penticton)
- Available to start immediately
- Pool maintenance experience an asset (not required)
If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you — apply today. We're looking to fill this position as soon as possible.
