Barrie or Collingwood
Ainley Group is currently seeking a Senior Municipal Engineer/Project Manager to join our Barrie or Collingwood Office. This position requires a skilled individual and people-person, with the ability to manage staff and budgets with a proven track record as an experienced team leader and a strong profile and contact network in Ontario.
The specifics of the position are as follows:
- Manage multidisciplinary teams during the completion of Class EA’s, preliminary and detailed designs and/or oversee the construction administration associated with transportation and municipal servicing projects for local/regional municipalities throughout Ontario.
- Manage resources, project scope, schedules, budgets, and quality of deliverables. This includes preparing, submitting, and successfully securing change requests from municipal clients.
- Prepare designs, calculations, and reports; coordinate drawing preparation; prepare contract specifications, quantities, and cost estimates; prepare applications for approvals from various review agencies.
- Coordinate with and mentor junior engineering staff working within the department.
- Assist with process improvement and Quality Management processes.
- Liaise with clients, sub-consultants, approval authorities, project stakeholders, construction supervision staff and contractors.
- Assist with the preparation of marketing and business development, including preparing proposals to secure additional work within the department.
- Taken project responsibilities by signing and sealing project documents in accordance with PEO guidelines.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in Ontario with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a municipal consulting engineering setting.
- Experience in planning, preliminary design, detailed design, and construction administration associated with new and/or the rehabilitation of municipal transportation and servicing projects.
- Skilled in cost estimating, quantity preparation and specification writing.
- A track record of gaining approval of infrastructure designs from municipal road authorities and review agencies.
- Independent, organized and motivated team player with excellent oral and written communication skills.

Final compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s specialized experience and technical skill set. While the provided range serves as a general baseline, we take a holistic approach to defining final offers.
