Position Overview
The supervisor is a position responsible for leading the team when the Manager is absent. In this position you must have clear communication with the Manager on any issues or concerns that may arise during your shift. We are currently seeking a dependable and motivated Depot Supervisor to join our Queens Ave. location team. This role is responsible for overseeing daily depot operations, supervising staff, and ensuring a smooth, safe, and efficient workflow while delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Open and close the Queens depot according to scheduled hours, ensuring site security and proper equipment operation
- Supervise, schedule, and support depot staff to ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently and safely
- Provide hands-on assistance to customers with bottle drop-offs and recycling inquiries
- Monitor daily operations to ensure accurate and efficient processing of bottles and cans
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe depot environment at all times
- Accurately count incoming materials and issue refund receipts to customers
- Oversee inventory control, including tracking, storage, and reconciliation of recyclable materials
- Loading and unloading materials with a forklift
- Coordinate shipping of materials, ensuring proper documentation and compliance
- Conduct regular audits of materials to ensure accuracy
- Identify and report equipment issues, staff concerns, or customer feedback to management
- Demonstrate precise material handling and processing practices
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture that encourages growth and continuous learning
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous supervisory or similar operational experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Forklift experience considered an asset
- High attention to detail with strong dependability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
