Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Carpenter or Carpenters Helper to join our team. In this role, you will assist experienced carpenters in various construction projects, contributing to the successful completion of tasks while gaining valuable hands-on experience in the trade. The Carpenter Helper will be involved in a variety of tasks that support the building and installation processes, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and to high standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist carpenters in the construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials.
- Help with the setup and operation of power tools and equipment necessary for carpentry work.
- Support in reading blueprints and technical drawings to understand project specifications.
- Participate in flooring installation and other finishing tasks as directed by lead carpenters.
- Aid in caulking and sealing joints to ensure durability and quality of work.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Engage in basic construction estimating to assist with project planning.
- Learn to fabricate components using CNC machinery under supervision.
Skills
- Familiarity with power tools and their safe operation is essential.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems is a plus.
- Experience or willingness to learn caulking techniques for effective sealing.
- Understanding of construction estimating principles is beneficial.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately is highly valued.
- Skills in flooring installation will enhance your contributions on-site.
- A proactive attitude towards learning new skills related to fabrication processes is encouraged.
