The Department of Community Health Sciences (DCHS), in the Cumming School of Medicine (CSM), University of Calgary, invites applications for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Epidemiology with expertise in modern epidemiological methods, causal inference methods for observational studies, administrative health data, and/or real-world evidence research. This role will contribute across the three pillars of scholarly activity. Approximately 55% of the time will be dedicated to research, 40% dedicated to teaching, and 5% dedicated to service.
Qualifications include a PhD (or equivalent) degree in Epidemiology or Biostatistics, or a related discipline, and post-doctoral training or equivalent academic experience. Applicants must present evidence of the ability to establish an externally funded research program (at the level of Tri-Council or equivalent peer reviewed National/International organization), and a strong publication record (commensurate with career stage) as evidenced by publications in high-impact disciplinary journals with a focus on those as first author. Applicants must also show evidence of successful mentoring, teaching and/or student supervision, in addition to evidence of academic engagement in professional and other communities.
