Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of hair styling services including braiding, weaving, extensions, coloring, and hair installation with precision and care
- Consult with clients to understand their desired look, offering expert advice on styles, treatments, and maintenance
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in all work areas according to salon protocols
- Utilize salon software such as MINDBODY for appointment scheduling, client records, and retail sales tracking
- Provide excellent customer service by creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring client satisfaction throughout their visit
- Educate clients on hair care routines, product recommendations, and upselling retail items to enhance their experience
- Mentor junior team members by sharing techniques in hair threading, eyelash extensions, makeup application, and nail care to foster skill development
Requirements
- Proven experience in hair styling, including skills in hair extensions, coloring theory, and natural or synthetic braiding techniques
- Knowledge of salon software systems such as MINDBODY for managing appointments and retail transactions
- Strong understanding of sanitation standards to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff
- Certification in cosmetology or barbering from an accredited program; additional skills in eyelash extensions or nail care are a plus
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members
- Ability to perform retail math calculations for upselling products confidently
- Experience with store management or front desk duties is advantageous but not required; a proactive attitude is essential
