Work Integrated Learning Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY
The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Work Integrated Learning
initiatives at The King’s University. This role provides guidance and leadership to WIL specialists while
supporting the overall student experience as part of the Student Life & Learning team
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all Work Integrated Learning (WIL) activities and provide
administrative oversight for WIL course delivery.
- Support student preparation for placements by delivering short courses and seminars focused on
career readiness, professional skills, and vocational development.
- Facilitate and maintain strong student–employer relationships, ensuring successful placement
experiences and resolving issues as they arise.
- Develop and sustain partnerships with industry and community employers to expand high-quality WIL
opportunities.
- Maintain and manage the WIL job board and support employers with job postings, program
expectations, and access to funding opportunities (e.g., MITACS, SWPP).
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of WIL processes,
policies, and reporting systems.
- Collect and analyze feedback from students and employers to enhance program quality and student
outcomes.
- Coordinate with academic departments and WIL staff to integrate WIL opportunities into academic
programs and support campus-wide student career initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; a diploma combined with equivalent experience may be
considered.
- 3–5 years of experience working with post-secondary students, human resources, or program
coordination.
- Experience in Work Integrated Learning (WIL), experiential learning, or student placement programs;
business education background is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships with students, employers,
and faculty.
- Proven ability to manage and evaluate programs, synthesize feedback, and improve processes.
