Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Demolition and Abatement Labourer, where you'll play a vital role in safely dismantling structures and removing hazardous materials. Duties
- Assist with the demolition of buildings, walls, flooring, and other structures using hand tools and power tools
- Remove hazardous materials such as asbestos or lead-based paint following safety guidelines and regulations
- Support concrete forming, masonry, carpentry, and restoration activities as needed during project phases
- Perform site cleanup, debris removal, and ensure work areas are safe and organized throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- Prior construction experience with a focus on demolition or abatement work preferred
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
- Knowledge of asbestos abatement procedures and hazardous material handling is a plus; however, not required
- Familiarity with concrete finishing, masonry, welding, carpentry, or electrical work is advantageous; however, not required
- Strong attention to safety protocols and environmental regulations governing hazardous materials removal
- Must be able to be clean-shaven daily to wear tight-fitting respiratory protection regularly
- Physical stamina to perform demanding manual labour in various weather conditions
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Capability to lift and carry heavy items (50 lbs) with or without assistance
- To ensure the health and safety of the candidate and those at or near the workplace, candidates must have professional working proficiency in English
- Foreign workers must have an open work permit

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
