Duties:

Provide assessment, treatment, and support to adults with serious mental illness and their families, including risk, crisis, and clinical needs assessments

Deliver individual and group education and therapeutic interventions for patients and families
-
Collaborate with community resources, residential settings, and the interdisciplinary team to support care and discharge planning
-
Advocate for client and family access to appropriate services and resources
-
Engage clients, families, and supports in treatment planning, clinical interventions, and risk reduction strategies

Develop and facilitate therapeutic groups and provide educational presentations to community groups
-
Participate in Social Work meetings, peer consultation, committees, task groups, and Community Treatment Order planning/implementation

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and workload data in compliance with hospital, professional, and legislative standards

Contribute to research, program evaluation, quality improvement, and support the supervision and education of students

Keep up to date regarding professional standards by reviewing current literature, attending educational events, networking with colleagues, etc

Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of the Royal

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in social work

Registration and in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers

Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience in a mental health setting

Discharge planning experience and knowledge of community resources is essential
-
High level of knowledge, skill and confidence in using electronic health record systems for clinical documentation and navigation.

Experience in group work preferred
-
Knowledge of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and/ or Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)Client centered approach
-
Experience with recovery-based programs for the seriously mentally ill is an asset

Experience working with Concurrent Disorders population asset

Conflict resolution knowledge
-
Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team

Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle

Willingness to work variable hours, evenings and weekends

English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression. Bilingual (French/English) is considered an asset.

Salary Range:
44.67 to 57.90 per hour
