Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess who will play a key role in both front-of-house service and supporting the expo team. This position involves greeting and seating the guests, managing reservations, ensuring a smooth flow of service, while also assisting the expo line to coordinate orders, maintain accuracy, and support timely food delivery. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can multitask efficiently, and is committed to delivering an excellent guest experience through teamwork and attention to details.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservations efficiently.
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
- Manage waitlists and estimate wait times accurately
- Handle guest inquiries politely via phone and in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth seating flow
- Assist with seating arrangements during busy hours and special events
- Process guest payments using POS systems, including Micros POS, accurately and efficiently
- Provide information about menu items, specials, and restaurant policies as needed
- Support overall guest satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly and professionally
Skills
- Strong guest services and customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Previous experience in serving, hospitality, or food service preferred
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including POS systems like Micros POS
- Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and demeanor suitable for hospitality settings
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and courteously
- Experience in hotel or restaurant environments is a plus
