Core Technical Skills:
• Skilled DataStage and Talend Developer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes to support enterprise data integration, data warehousing, and analytics initiatives.
- Strong experience in: IBM DataStage (Parallel Jobs, Server Jobs) Talend (Talend Open Studio / Talend Data Integration)
- Strong SQL knowledge (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc.)
- Hands-on experience in:
- ETL design and development
- Data modelling concepts
- Experience with Unix/Linux scripting.
- The candidate will work with large datasets and ensure efficient data movement, transformation, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL jobs using IBM DataStage and/or Talend
- Build reusable components and frameworks for data integration
- Optimize ETL processes for performance and scalability Data Integration & Processing
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL/ELT) data from multiple sources (DBs, APIs, flat files, cloud)
• Handle structured and semi-structured data• Implement data validation, cleansing, and transformation rules
- Data Warehouse Support
- Work on data warehousing concepts (Star Schema, Snowflake schema, fact/dimension tables)
- Support data marts and reporting systems
- Ensure accurate and timely data availability for BI tools Performance Tuning
• Analyze job performance and optimize ETL workflows• Handle large data volumes efficiently
- Debug and troubleshoot ETL failures Collaboration
- Work with business analysts, data architects, and developers
- Understand data requirements and convert them into technical solutions
- Participate in agile development processes (Scrum, sprint planning) Documentation & Governance
- Document ETL processes, workflows, and data mappings
- Ensure adherence to data governance and security standards
- Maintain version control and deployment processes
