Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Apprentice to join our team and gain hands-on experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair across a variety of projects. The Apprentice will work under the supervision of licensed electricians, assisting with tasks such as reading and interpreting technical drawings, installing wiring and conduit, assembling and maintaining distribution systems, and ensuring all work meets safety and code requirements.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to build practical skills in the electrical trade, with exposure to both industrial and commercial environments. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and a willingness to learn and develop within the trade.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings, specifications, and applicable codes to determine wiring layouts
- Experience bending and assembling EMT and rigid conduit
- Experience with wire pulling over long distances
- Complete a thorough JSA and safety checklist prior to the start of any new task
- Install, replace, maintain, and repair electrical systems and related electrical equipment
- Splice, join and connect wire to form circuits
- Test circuits to ensure integrity and safety
- Position, maintain, and install distribution and control equipment such as switches, relays, circuit breaker panels, and fuse enclosures
Qualifications
- Must be an active 309A apprentice
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Solid knowledge of the British Columbia Electrical Code
- Must have an active WAH, EWP, and WHMIS certificate
