Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating heavy equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and other machinery essential for construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and safety protocols to ensure efficient project execution and a safe working environment. The Excavator Operator will be responsible for performing precise excavation tasks. Candidates with a background in commercial driving and heavy equipment operation are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and other heavy machinery such as dozers, and loaders, with precision and safety.
- Perform site excavation, grading, trenching, and material handling according to project specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain compliance with OSHA standards during daily operations.
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to meet project deadlines efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance activities.
Experience
- Proven experience operating excavators in a construction environment.
- Familiarity with dozer and loader operation is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) for transporting equipment or materials on-site or between locations would be an asset but not required.
- Prior experience working with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery brands is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation in construction settings. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects utilizing advanced heavy machinery while contributing to safe and efficient construction operations.
