Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Class 1 Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport freight and equipment, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining compliance with all safety regulations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, vehicle maintenance, and efficient transportation logistics to support our operations.
Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for freight delivery across designated routes.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure proper functioning and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts.
- Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle reliability.
- Assist with the operation of heavy equipment and machinery related to freight handling.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during transportation activities.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients to coordinate delivery schedules.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely (certification is a plus).
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting vehicle issues.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and freight handling.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to adhere to delivery schedules.
- Prior experience with freight logistics or heavy equipment operation is advantageous but not mandatory.
Pay: $26.00-$29.00 per hour
