Green Infrastructure Partners (GIP), - Prairies Division, formally Nelson River Construction (NRC) is hiring motivated Asphalt Plant Operators for our Asphalt Division in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and mix asphalt with types and quantities of product
- Oversee the controls for the asphalt plant for the day to day operations
- Load and unload asphalt cement
- Communicate with dispatch, scale person, ground person to determine product, load, and quantities
- Conduct hot and cold starts
- Calibrate plant at beginning of project both oil and aggregate
- Trace and order asphalt oil/burner fuel
- Operate plant controls to properly manufacture hot mix, warm mix, and/or cold mix asphalt to spec
- Work with plant employees in production and distribution
- Conduct period inspections of plant unity to assure proper functioning
- Assist in maintenance and repairs of the plant equipment and facilities as needed
Job Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift and carry up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Previous experience with heavy equipment, front end loader and forklift
- Must have valid class 5 MB Driver's License
- Work with little supervision; must be self-directed
- Familiar with construction methods, tools and materials are considered an asset
- Perform plant maintenance and repairs as required
- Creative thinking and problem solving with the ability to troubleshoot
- Ability to use a cutting torch and welding equipment
- Ability to work long hours and some weekends based on business requirements
- Previous Asphalt Plant experience is an asset
- Other duties as assigned

Pay: $31.00-$35.00 per hour
