THE JOB
The Health & Safety Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the Health and Safety Department and carries out responsibilities in some or all the functional areas: Health, Safety and Training. The position will utilize your skills in relationship building, collaboration, and communication to develop the team, and represent Hy-Tech Drilling in a professional manner. Responsibilities include:
- Support Health, Safety, and Training programs across the organization.
- Coordinate employee orientations, training records, and competency tracking.
- Maintain employee files, databases, and safety documentation.
- Assist with incident response processes and Health & Safety initiatives.
- Organize and support internal and external training programs and events.
- Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes, track action items, and provide administrative support to committees.
- Monitor and process safety reports, audits, hazard identifications, and corrective actions.
- Develop, update, and distribute training materials, presentations, field resources, and employee communications.
- Compile and analyze safety and training data to support reporting and continuous improvement.
- Manage correspondence, document filing, and departmental communications.
- Support the creation of company presentations, newsletters, and other internal communications.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, management systems, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Health, Safety, and Training teams, including occasional after-hours and weekend coverage.

THE SETTING
This position is based out of the company headquarters in Smithers, BC.
THE SCHEDULE
Standard working hours are 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday. There will also be some requirements to be available after hours and on weekends during busy times.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-3 years of administrative experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Intermediate computer skills, including experience with spreadsheets, email, databases, and word processing software.
- Valid Driver’s Licence and provide a current Driver’s Abstract annually.
