Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Irrigation Technician to join our landscape maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in irrigation systems, gardening, horticulture, and landscape upkeep. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining irrigation systems to ensure optimal water distribution for various outdoor environments. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in construction, landscaping, or related fields to contribute to high-quality landscape projects.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain irrigation systems across residential and commercial properties
- Operate excavation equipment such as excavators to assist with underground pipe installation and system upgrades
- Use hand tools and power tools to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of irrigation components
- Conduct regular inspections of landscape areas to identify irrigation issues or system failures
- Perform landscaping tasks including gardening, pruning, and general landscape maintenance as needed
- Apply horticultural knowledge to ensure healthy plant growth and proper landscape aesthetics
- Collaborate with team members on construction projects related to landscape enhancement and irrigation setup
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used for each project
Requirements
- Prior experience with irrigation systems, landscaping, horticulture, or related fields preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to irrigation components, pumps, valves, and controllers
- Ability to operate excavation equipment such as excavators is highly desirable
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in landscape maintenance and construction
- Strong understanding of landscape maintenance practices including gardening and horticulture principles
- Knowledge of construction processes related to outdoor projects is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently
- Physical ability to perform manual labor including digging, lifting, and operating equipment for extended periods
- Valid driver’s license required; ability to operate various machinery safely is preferred
